On October 28th, Canadian School came alive with color, music, and tradition during the much-anticipated Canebrijes celebration — an event where Junior High and High School shared a magical evening in honor of Día de Muertos, with music as the central theme.
More than 900 people, including families, teachers, students, and staff, gathered to enjoy a night filled with creativity, talent, and deep cultural meaning. Students were the stars of various activities they had prepared for months with dedication — from the stunning hallway of living statues and the clever legends and calaveritas literarias created by Junior High students, to the musical ensemble that filled every corner of the campus with emotion. The art class added their touch by decorating the hallways with guitars, vases, and alebrijes in the Coco-style theme, surrounded by paths of cempasúchil flowers.
For the first time, the altares de muertos (Day of the Dead altars) came to life in a High School competition by grade level, showcasing the students’ originality and artistic sensitivity. They also decorated the space with colorful traditional carpets that paid tribute to our roots and Mexican music.
The main stage came alive with a theatrical performance of Coco, along with other artistic numbers that celebrated our Mexican identity. The Parent Association (APF) made a spectacular contribution to the event by creating a “Bridge of the Dead” leading to the main stage, framed by a majestic carpet inspired by the Coco movie.
The family fair was also a joyful gathering point where attendees enjoyed delicious Mexican snacks, carnival games, and a wonderful sense of community.
The talent, energy, and creativity of our students brought Canebrijes 2026 to life — an event that reaffirmed the value of our traditions and the strength of the Canadian spirit.
Because remembering those we love is also a way to celebrate life, Canebrijes was, without a doubt, an experience that will remain in everyone’s hearts. 💀🌸

Canebrijes 2026: Una noche para celebrar la vida y nuestras tradiciones
El pasado 28 de octubre, el Canadian School se llenó de color, música y tradición durante la esperada celebración de Canebrijes, un evento en el que Junior High y High School compartieron una tarde mágica en honor al Día de Muertos en donde la música fue el eje central.
Más de 900 personas, entre familias, profesores, alumnos y staff, se dieron cita para disfrutar de una velada que combinó creatividad, talento y un profundo sentido cultural. Los estudiantes fueron los protagonistas de distintas activaciones que prepararon con dedicación durante meses: desde el impresionante pasillo de estatuas vivientes y las ingeniosas leyendas y calaveritas literarias creadas por alumnos de Junior High, hasta el ensamble musical que llenó de emoción cada rincón del campus. La clase de arte se encargó de decorar con sus guitarras, jarrones y alebrijes al estilo COCO por todo el pasillo de cempasúchil.
Por primera vez, los altares de muertos tuvieron vida, en un concurso por generación de High School, demostrando la originalidad y sensibilidad artística de los estudiantes, quienes también decoraron el espacio con coloridas alfombras típicas que rindieron homenaje a nuestras raíces y la música mexicana.
El escenario principal cobró vida con la presentación teatral de “COCO”, además de otros números artísticos que celebraron nuestra identidad mexicana. La Asociación de Padres de Familia (APF) contribuyó de manera espectacular al evento, creando un “Puente de los Muertos” que conducía al escenario principal, enmarcado por una majestuosa alfombra inspirada en la película Coco.
La feria familiar también fue un punto de encuentro lleno de sabor y alegría, donde los asistentes disfrutaron de deliciosos antojitos mexicanos y de un ambiente de comunidad inigualable, además de juegos de Feria.
El talento, la energía y la creatividad de nuestros alumnos dieron vida a Canebrijes 2026, un evento que reafirmó el valor de nuestras tradiciones y la fuerza del espíritu Canadian.
Porque recordar a quienes amamos también es celebrar la vida, Canebrijes fue, sin duda, una experiencia que quedará en el corazón de todos. 💀🌸
