Last Thursday, December 4, 2025, our high school community came together for the fourth edition of the Giving Back Event, a meaningful celebration that embodies the spirit of generosity and kindness. This unique event brought together our students and special needs students from a neighboring school, creating an inclusive environment that fostered connections and understanding.
The event focuses on raising awareness about Down’s Syndrome, as most of our guests live with this condition. Leading up to the event, our students participated in informative presentations to better understand how to interact with and support their peers. This preparation ensured that everyone felt comfortable and respected, paving the way for a heartwarming experience.
The Giving Back Event allowed our students to put their values into action, demonstrating kindness and empathy towards their guests. In preparation, our students crafted thoughtful “party favors” to be given to the special needs students. A small gesture of generosity that embodied the event’s theme.
As the day began, students registered their teams, setting the stage for an exciting morning. After welcoming remarks from the head of school and the section principal, we kicked off the event with a lively signing performance from a talented junior high student, followed by an energetic dance routine from some of our high school students. The atmosphere was filled with positivity and anticipation.
Throughout the event, numerous students volunteered to serve a meal to our guests, who were seated at various tables around the basketball court, which was beautifully set up under the roof. The sense of community was palpable as students engaged with their guests, sharing smiles and encouragement.
The activities that followed included ceramics, face painting, soccer, and basketball, providing delightful opportunities for everyone to bond and enjoy each other’s company. Laughter filled the air as our guests and students participated in these lighthearted activities, reinforcing the values of love, empathy, and cooperation that are cherished within our community.
As the event came to a close, we bid farewell to our guests, reflecting on the meaningful interactions and memories created throughout the day. We are grateful for the chance to connect and look forward to welcoming them back next year!
The Giving Back Event serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we extend our hands and hearts to others. Together, we are not only promoting awareness but also creating lasting friendships that enrich our school community. Celebrando la Generosidad en el Cuarto Giving Back Event Navideño
El pasado jueves 4 de diciembre de 2025, nuestra comunidad de High School se reunió para celebrar la cuarta edición del Giving Back Event, una experiencia significativa que refleja el espíritu de generosidad y solidaridad que nos distingue. Este evento tan especial reunió a nuestros estudiantes con alumnos con necesidades especiales de una escuela vecina, creando un ambiente inclusivo que fomentó la convivencia, el respeto y la comprensión.
El evento tuvo como objetivo generar conciencia sobre el Síndrome de Down, condición con la que viven la mayoría de nuestros invitados. Previo a la jornada, nuestros estudiantes participaron en presentaciones informativas que les permitieron comprender mejor cómo interactuar y apoyar a sus compañeros, asegurando un entorno respetuoso, empático y acogedor para todos.
El Giving Back Event brindó a nuestros alumnos la oportunidad de llevar sus valores a la práctica, demostrando empatía y amabilidad hacia sus invitados. Como parte de la preparación, los estudiantes elaboraron con dedicación pequeños obsequios para los alumnos con necesidades especiales, un gesto sencillo pero lleno de significado que reflejó la esencia del evento.
Al inicio de la jornada, los estudiantes registraron a sus equipos, dando paso a una mañana llena de entusiasmo. Posteriormente, se ofrecieron unas palabras de bienvenida por parte de la Dirección General y la Dirección de sección. El evento arrancó con una emotiva presentación de canto a cargo de una alumna de Junior High, seguida de una energética coreografía presentada por estudiantes de High School, creando un ambiente lleno de alegría y expectativa.
Durante el desarrollo del evento, numerosos alumnos se ofrecieron como voluntarios para servir alimentos a nuestros invitados, quienes se encontraban sentados en diferentes mesas distribuidas alrededor de la cancha de basquetbol, cuidadosamente acondicionada y techada. El sentido de comunidad fue evidente en cada interacción, sonrisa y palabra de ánimo compartida.
Las actividades continuaron con talleres de cerámica, pintura facial, fútbol y basquetbol, ofreciendo espacios de convivencia y diversión para todos. Las risas y el entusiasmo llenaron el ambiente, fortaleciendo los valores de amor, empatía y cooperación que caracterizan a nuestra comunidad escolar.
Al finalizar el evento, nos despedimos de nuestros invitados reflexionando sobre los momentos significativos y los recuerdos creados a lo largo del día. Agradecemos profundamente la oportunidad de compartir esta experiencia y esperamos con ilusión volver a recibirlos el próximo año.
El Giving Back Event es un recordatorio del impacto positivo que podemos generar cuando abrimos nuestras manos y corazones a los demás.
