Some days simply mark a moment on the calendar, while others become memories that stay with us for a lifetime. For the G12 students at Canadian School, their Last First Day was undoubtedly one of those moments.
With excitement, enthusiasm, and plenty of reasons to celebrate, our Seniors arrived on campus early in the morning to experience their last first day of school. A day that represents much more than the beginning of a new school year: it marks the beginning of the end of a chapter that has been part of their lives since their earliest years at Canadian School.
And they chose to begin this day in a very special way.
To honor the journey they have shared, the students arrived wearing their Toddler uniforms, bringing back memories of those early years when their story within our community first began. Crowns, fun props, and a festive spirit added to the celebration, turning the first moments of the morning into an experience filled with joy, nostalgia, and school spirit.
As they arrived on campus, hugs, laughter, and foam kicked off a very different kind of morning. Our Seniors were welcomed by their teachers and school leaders, who joined them in this meaningful moment, followed by their official class photo.
But there was still a surprise waiting for them.
When they arrived at the Deck Patio, the 6G students were eagerly waiting to welcome them. Each 6G student had prepared a class tumbler and a personalized postcard that would later become something even more meaningful: a space where each Senior would write their purpose for the year ahead.
One by one, the 12G students were called by name by the High School Principal, Miss Marcela Cruz Diez de Sollano, and walked toward the heart of the school. They crossed a symbolic arch representing the transition into this final stage of their school journey and, upon reaching the other side, rang the bell officially announcing their Last First Day, where they were welcomed by two 6G students.
The little ones who once arrived at Canadian School taking their very first steps within our community were now standing before their final year of school. And it was precisely some of the youngest members of our school community who welcomed them into this new beginning.
A Purpose for the Future
After the celebration came a moment of pause and reflection.
Each Senior received a personalized postcard on which they wrote a letter to their future self. It gave them the opportunity to set an intention for the year ahead, reflect on the person they hope to become by the end of this chapter, and put into words what they want to remember when the time comes to say goodbye to Canadian School.
These letters will be kept safely until their last day of school as Canadian School students.
On that day, as they prepare to officially close this chapter, they will have the opportunity to read the words they wrote at the beginning of their Last First Day. A message from who they are today to the person they will become.
Because the future does not begin on graduation day. It begins much earlier, through the decisions, intentions, and experiences we build along the way.
From Little Beginnings to Big Dreams
The Last First Day reminds us that every stage has a beginning and an ending, but that no experience ever truly disappears. The years we have lived, the friendships we have built, the lessons we have learned, the challenges we have overcome, and the moments we have shared all become part of the story each student carries with them.
Today, our Seniors begin their final chapter as Canadian School students.
And as they look toward what comes next, the community that has accompanied them throughout the years looks on with pride, remembering that they were once those little children just beginning their journey.
From little beginnings to big dreams, every journey has a story.
And theirs is just beginning to write its final chapter at Canadian School.

Last First Day: El comienzo del final
From little beginnings to big dreams, every journey has a story.
