Early Years Guadalajara
Peace Day at Early Years is a meaningful opportunity to nurture empathy, respect, and harmony from the very beginning of our children’s lives. More than a date on the calendar, this special celebration helps lay the foundation for essential skills such as self-regulation, peaceful conflict resolution, and awareness of others, reminding our children that even their smallest actions can create a positive impact on themselves, their families, and the world around them.
To commemorate this special day, students came dressed in white on Monday, September 21, as a symbol of their daily commitment to peace, both within themselves and in the way they relate to others. Throughout the day and in the days leading up to it, they reflected together with their teachers on what peace means, how they experience it at home and at school, and which spaces or moments bring them a sense of calm and peace.
The creative process began beforehand in the Atelier, where the children designed a mural representing a world that longs for and needs peace. On Peace Day, they completed the artwork by adding their handprints alongside a personal commitment, sharing their individual and classroom agreements, as well as the activities that help them feel calm and grounded.
To complement the celebration and continue fostering a culture of peace, the children enjoyed stories centered on friendship and teamwork, such as [book title]. Finally, they visited the Calm Area, where they brought their voices and creations together to create an inspiring collective message:
Little Hands Change the World.
