October was an unforgettable month at Canadian School Guadalajara! It was packed with learning, creativity, and wonderful moments to share as a community. From the very beginning, we lived the spirit of the Canadian School Way, focusing with great enthusiasm on the value of responsibility, which was reflected in every activity we enjoyed.
From October 13 to 19, we celebrated Digital Citizenship Week. Our learners practiced how to be responsible and mindful users in the digital world. On Monday the 13th, we also celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving. It is a special day to reflect and be thankful for everything we have, especially for being part of such a great community.
On Tuesday October 21st, we were thrilled to welcome families and friends on our “Friends & Family event”, where they learned more about the Canadian School Guadalajara project. It was such a heartwarming experience that reminded us how proud we are to belong to this wonderful family. During the month, we also hosted our lovely “Coffee Talks” with moms from G1 and G4, where conversations and ideas flowed in an atmosphere of trust and collaboration.
On October 23rd, we had the “Math Journey event¨ for grades 1 and 2 parents. This is a special event where parents learn how their children learn math at Canadian School.
We also kicked off our SexEd talks for our learners of all grades. This helps to create a space of trust, respect, and open communication that supports our community’s commitment to integral education and well-being.
On October 29, our school filled with colour and fun during the Halloween Parade. It was amazing to see the creativity of our learners shine through in their unique, fun, and imaginative costumes!
And to close the month on a high note, on October 30 we celebrated Día de Muertos. This year was dedicated to the state of Yucatán and its rich traditions. Our celebration, called “Hanal Pixán”, was full of culture and joy. We enjoyed delicious snacks, folk dances and a handmade “panteón” created by our youngest learners. We also had beautiful “catrinas and catrines” from G3, along with stunning altars crafted by G4 and G5. Everything was proudly made by our learning community.
Each event was a reflection of the dedication, creativity, and happiness that make our community so special. Thank you to all the learners, teachers, and families for making October such a joyful and memorable month at Canadian School Guadalajara!

Octubre: un mes lleno de aprendizajes, tradiciones y alegría en la Primaria de Canadian School Guadalajara

¡Octubre fue un mes inolvidable en la sección primaria del Canadian School Guadalajara! Estuvo lleno de aprendizaje, creatividad y momentos para compartir en comunidad. Desde el inicio, vivimos el espíritu del Canadian School Way, trabajando con entusiasmo el valor de la responsabilidad, un tema que se reflejó en cada actividad del mes.
Del 13 al 19 de octubre celebramos la semana de la Ciudadanía Digital, donde nuestros alumnos aprendieron a ser usuarios responsables y conscientes en el mundo digital. El lunes 13, también disfrutamos del Canadian Thanksgiving, una jornada especial para agradecer y reflexionar sobre lo afortunados que somos de pertenecer a esta gran comunidad.
El martes 21, abrimos nuestras puertas para recibir a familiares y amigos en nuestro “Friends & Family event”, en el cual conocieron de cerca el proyecto educativo del Canadian School Guadalajara. Fue una experiencia muy emotiva que nos permitió compartir el orgullo de formar parte de esta familia. Durante el mes también tuvimos los esperados Coffee Talks con las mamás de G1 y G4, espacios llenos de diálogo y colaboración.
El 23 de octubre llevamos a cabo el “Math Journey event” para papás de G1y G2, una ocasión especial en la que conocen cómo sus hijos aprenden matemáticas en Canadian School.
Además, iniciamos las pláticas de SexEd dirigidas a nuestros alumnos de todos los grados, promoviendo un espacio de confianza, respeto y educación integral que refuerza los valores de nuestra comunidad escolar.
El 29 de octubre, la escuela se llenó de color y diversión con nuestro Halloween Parade. ¡Fue increíble ver la creatividad de nuestros estudiantes con disfraces originales, divertidos y llenos de imaginación!
Y para cerrar con broche de oro, el 30 de octubre celebramos el Día de Muertos, que este año, en conmemoración al estado de Yucatán, llevamos a cabo como Hanal Pixán, una fiesta llena de tradición y cultura. Disfrutamos de deliciosos snacks, danzas folclóricas, un panteón hecho por los más pequeños, catrinas y catrines de G3, e increíbles altares elaborados por G4 y G5, todo creado con dedicación y orgullo por nuestros estudiantes.
Cada actividad fue una muestra del compromiso, talento y alegría que caracteriza a nuestra comunidad. ¡Gracias a todos los alumnos, maestros y familias por hacer de octubre un mes tan especial en el Canadian School Guadalajara!
